LPF Pastured Chicken

Posted 6/10/2017 9:19am by Michael Scheidel.

Hey Good folks!

After a dark and damp few weeks, it looks like we'll finally get some serious heat and sun.  Just enough to break the dormancy of our peppers, sweet potatoes, and field tomatoes.  The soil has been very cool so if your plants look wimpy and pale, don't worry, they'll bounce back!

Our first round of pastured/organically fed chickens are a week away from processing.  This is our 8th or 9th year raising birds on grass and we are convinced these are the best tasting, highest quality chickens a family can eat!  We have hired a professional local mobile processor to butcher and are still taking pre-orders for whole and parted birds.  The cost is $4/lb., $3.75/lb. if you order more than 10 birds.  We are also offering for the first time a whole bird parted out.  That means you will get the carcass (excellent for soup!), breasts, thighs, and wings bagged separately.  The cost for this service is approximately $2.50/bird and is exactly what the processor mark up, just what he charges us.  So to order, please e-mail us right away with what you'd like.  Pick up is on Monday, June 19th from 4-6.

Gratefully Growing!
