"What are we supposed to do?", Annual Farm Dinner and Mor Farm News!

Posted 8/13/2018 11:40am by Michael Scheidel.

Hey Folks!

I wont dwell on this very long but this rain has caused us the most difficult growing season since 2013.  Weeds are out of control, walkways in the field are sloppy with mud, and we can't work any ground to plant succession crops.  BUT we are doing the best we can and are harvesting fantastic quality despite the conditions.  A fellow farmer just texted me this morning the simple question, "What are we supposed to do?"  Good question.

Yesterday the chefs creating our annual Farmer's Table Dinner came out to do final menu planning.  What a great group of talent we have been blessed with.  Jordan and "Ninja" Dan lead the team from Woo de La Kitchen and Matt and Kate lead the way from Troegs Independent Brewing.  They have been able to craft a very unique menu which we will leak during the next week on our FB page and here!  Troegs will offer beer pairings with the menu for craft beer lovers!  This is an annual fundraiser for both Little Peace Farm and Servants To All, an organization aiming to end homelessness in Schuylkill County.  We have a fantastic lineup of items for the silent auction during the dinner. 100% of proceeds from the auction go directly to Servants To All!  Watch for the growing list of auction items!

Seats at the table are $75 and include the 5 course meal, appetizer reception, and all beverages.  Order tickets online (CSA/Ordering tab on our website).

We are sold out for our fall batch of broiler chickens.  Thank you to all who ordered and stay tuned for details about pick up etc.  If you haven't paid your deposit for chicken, get in touch and we'll let you know what the cost is.

Don't forget we are open for retail sales here at the farm during our Honor Market from 12-6 every Wednesday and Thursday.  Come and shop and make change using our money box.

Stay tuned for more farm news!

Gratefully Growing.
