Hey Folks,

What a fantastic change in season!  This summer was HOT and over the years I have become less and less fond of frying out in the fields.  Some of you have seen me in family/social situations hiding in the shade of a tree while everyone else is enjoying the sun.  It's not me being anti-social, it's me looking for some relief!  These past couple of weeks, however, have been a beautiful gift of cooler nights and mornings, sunny and breezy days and an occasional smattering of rain.  And this week looks like another amazing week of cooler but sunny weather.  Ahhhhhhh….

As always, the farm is evolving and adapting to changing weather, family needs and opportunities.  We have decided not to offer a Fall CSA share this season as we really want to focus on winter work off the farm and finishing up the main season CSA strong.  We had two really bad hail storms that knocked some crops out completely and knocked us on our heels and have had a really hard time recovering.  We will, however, schedule pop-up markets here at the farm throughout the fall so stay tuned.

Our fall batch of pastured/organically fed broiler chickens are out on grass and enjoying the sun, grass and bugs!  We have birds available.  If you are interested in stocking up on the best quality chicken around, respond to this e-mail with your order.  Details are below.

We request a $5 deposit per bird ordered paid at time of ordering and the balance paid at chicken pick up date which will be October 14 after 5 p.m.

$4.95/lb. if less than 10 birds
$4.75/lb. from 10-19 birds
$4.50/lb. if 20 or more birds
***additional optional fees***
$2.25/bird for cut up and vacuum sealed
$1.25/bird if whole bird vacuum sealed

Gratefully Growing!
